The Mesa Rugged Notepad combines the benefits of a tablet PC and rugged handheld computer in a sleek and user-friendly design. Weighing just under two pounds, the notepad is easy to grip and resists impacts due to its highly absorbing bumpers. Many environmental factors such as dust, water intrusions, pressure from high altitude, extreme temperatures, water immersions, and drops can affect the performance of these devices. The Mesa however, is built to an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating, tested to MIL-STD-810G standards and approved for the Class I Division 2 non-incendive rating for use in hazardous locations.
A durable and lasting solution for harsh field environments, the Mesa is built tough from the inside out. Containing 256 MB RAM and 4 GB of flash storage, it leaves plenty of room to capture and process files and images. The built-in Microsoft Windows embedded handheld 6.5 operating system and 806 MHz processor ensure that applications run smoothly for prompt decision-making and data modification.
The intelligent Li-Ion battery operates the system for up to 16 hours on full charge, and recharges in just 2 to 4 hours. Two warm-swappable battery slots allow for batteries to easily be replaced without losing data or powering off the unit. The 5.7" responsive touchscreen features a high visibility LCD display that adjusts to movements by choosing a portrait or landscape orientation for the best viewing experience. A total of 15 buttons including the five-way directional navpad and 6 user-reassignable control buttons enable easy navigation through menu options. The unique custom home screen provides quick access to the most-used device functions. User-defined shortcuts and 11 screen gadgets control wireless connections, GPS, texting, email, calendar and power functions.
